Board of Directors & Committees

The Events and Fundraising Committee plans and coordinates Al-Amin’s community events, including Ramadan Iftar, Eid celebrations, educational programs, and cultural activities. The Committee also leads fundraising initiatives by organizing campaigns and revenue-generating events that support the organization’s mission, programs, and long-term growth.

The Children, Youth, and Young Adults Committee plans and coordinates educational, recreational, cultural, and community programs that support the growth and development of children, youth, and young adults. Through sports, field trips, community events, mentorship, service opportunities, and activities that promote Islamic values and Ethiopian-Islamic heritage, the Committee fosters faith, learning, leadership, fellowship, service, and community engagement across the next generation.

The Education and Da’awah Committee promotes Islamic knowledge through Quran, Hadith, Tafseer, Seerah, and other educational programs. It provides guidance on Islamic teachings, develops and reviews educational resources, promotes Ethiopian-Islamic heritage, and supports educational initiatives through partnerships and grant opportunities that benefit the community.

The Sisters Committee supports and empowers the women of the Al-Amin Community by fostering engagement, leadership, and fellowship. The Committee organizes programs and special events, welcomes and recruits new members, and promotes initiatives that strengthen the spiritual, educational, and social well-being of sisters within the community.

The Nominating and Elections Committee oversees Al-Amin’s Board election process by identifying and screening qualified candidates, verifying voter eligibility, and conducting fair and transparent elections. The Committee ensures that nominees meet the organization’s qualifications and upholds the integrity of the election process in accordance with Al-Amin’s bylaws.

The Audit Committee provides independent oversight of Al-Amin’s financial records and accountability. The Committee conducts regular financial audits, reports its findings to the Board and membership as appropriate, and helps ensure transparency, accuracy, and responsible stewardship of the organization’s resources.
